Who wants “free love” ? As we look at the picture,”Get Thee Behind Me, (Mrs. Satan!)” the satanic figure holding a commercial sign is kind of like a person offering or selling an idea. Yeahh.. just like Jehovah’s witness standing beside the street with full racks of tracts Oooppss.. no offense…
Look at the woman behind (zoom in) goshhh.. this gives me goosebumps… It highlights her commitment and desire to stay in communion with her husband even though it looks so hard to carry a drunken man and a child on the back.
As the painter put it,”I’d rather travel the hardest path of martimony than follow your footsteps.”
Nowadays, we have term like “friend with benefit” not sure if you have heard it before. It’s a lifestyle that chooses casual intimacy over a comitted relationship. And of course, it opposes biblical teachings regarding human relationship.
The point to remember:
- It is so important to see from foreign perspective; both in terms culture and lifestyle
- And discernment is needed
- we need to challenge them with the true words of God
