Paul will answer the most common questions people have after becoming a Christian.
Have you ever asked or wondered what God’s will is for your life or where and how He wants you to move or work for Him?
And God is never silent about His will even though our circumtances vary from one Christian to another . As Christ folowers, we are thankful for His guidance and that He opens the door to interact with Him through the Holy Bible.
Over this weekend , the Lord guided me to Paul’s first letters to the Thessalonians where Paul planted his church and His powerful message of thanksgiving , hope , encouragement for believers to persevere through trials.
God deires for us as Christians to make thankfulness an integral part of our daily purpose.
Let’s read together from 1 Thessalonians 5:18 give thanks in all circumtances; for this is God’s Will for you in Christ Jesus.
I want us to focus on this crucial part ,”this is God’s will for you.”
Let’s say it again,” this is God’s will for you.” Then “give thanks in all circumstances.”
Paul intructs us to give thanks in all circumtances , not for all circumtances. We live in a broken world means we will inevitably encounter trials ,dissapoinments, physical decline and the loss of loved ones.
It affects us deeply and those commands like not so helpful if we have no idea of God’s purpose behind it.
Just as our parents repeatedly remind us to do things out of love, a good and loving God does the same for us.
Giving thanks always for all things in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to God, even the Father; Ephesians 5:20
In nothing be anxious; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God Philiphians 4:6
if we stand in Christ and press on to Jesus, we will be fruitful with a joyful heart and give thanks whether in dry seasons or seasons of bloom.
Jesus is the vine. We cannot manufacture true joy through outward circumstances; earthly happiness and temporary excitement come and go, but a joyful spirit is rooted in Christ.
By remain in Him and being thankaful in every situation, we reflect His goodness and love to a world that does not know Him.
It’s a lifelong battle to cultivate a grateful heart in all things. For me, it often feels more and more difficult to give thanks, even for minor trials that come. When major ones come, I am usually unaware of them. What does a good and loving God have to do with me?
Then for the rest of the day, I wrestle in my mind till I finally surrender to His authority, asking Him once again to ..
pray:
Lord, guide me through every person and situation i meet today. Teach my heart to listen to your call and fill me with gratitude in every part of my work and life. Amen
